Mud room or entryway closet are often first thing that your guests notice when they enter your home, so it is really important to keep it neat. However, it is really difficult to organize such a small space. Shoes, coats, hats and every other pieces of clothing have to have their own designated space. Think about all your family members and make sure that everybody have their own hanger and basket. Look at the following ideas! Which closet space do you like the most?
The simplicity and functionality of Scandinavian design is noticeable also in the forms of fireplaces. Traditional wood fireplace is a center of almost all Scandinavian apartments and houses, due to the cold climate in that area. Scandinavian style fireplaces look far from the traditional ones (put into the wall, with the frame around them). They are charming and unique. I truly love them and cant wait to have one in my house! Let me know what do you think!
Do you remember my post about concrete in interior design? I just found this amazing apartment on TrendLand and I had to share the pictures with you. The owners, Christian Boros and Karen Lahmans were looking for a large space to live and exhibit their large art collection, in Berlin. They decided to buy a large, five story bunker, built in 40’s. The top floor was transformed into a penthouse. The four others were reserved for exhibition space. They decided to leave the open space of the bunker. On the walls of the penthouse they used a concrete, that created a unique, industrial look. Most of the furniture was found in antique stores. The apartment is decorated by over 100 art pieces, a part of their eccentric and personal collection.

Usually nurseries are full of sweet colors and toys. Most parents concentrate on “baby” things and forget to keep style in mind. If you are planning on decorating a room for your youngest family member, look at the picture below. They’re full of great inspirations. Pay attention to tough structures and colors combined with soft fabrics and faux fur. The soft and romantic pastels were spiced with stylish, modern designs and decorative elements… And don’t forget: the wall art doesn’t have to present fairy tales or Disney characters! The letters, quotes and pictures can create a beautiful gallery in your baby room!
Lately, I have read on the Apartment Therapy blog about the idea of putting wallpaper on the ceiling. I had always thought that it will make the interior look smaller and less airy, however I have looked at couple pictures and I became convinced that it can be an interesting surprise! It can really look fun and bold!
TIP: Putting wallpaper on the ceiling is more complicated that its look like. You save yourself a lot of work and stress if you hire professionals!
