Corrugated galvanized steel is a building material usually used for roofing. However, some designers, decided to use it on the wall or ceiling to create unique texture and industrial, utilitarian look. The easiest way to achieve this effect is to buy the galvanized steel paneling. It can be purchased at your local home improvement center or hardware store, and cut into the lengths you need. You can either nail it to the wall, or screw it into the ceiling. You can also use a matching wood trim to finish off the edge.
Who said chalkboards are just for kids?
Chalkboard walls don’t have to be a part of children’s room decor. It can look really great in the home office or kitchen, as a place for quotes, artwork and memories. In the kitchen, it’s also an interesting background for a shopping list. These walls definitely stand out. I like the natural, chalk color the most, but you can buy that kind of paint in almost all shades.
If you decide to use chalkboard paint on one of your walls, I definitely recommend to keep other walls white and use simple decor. The wall with notes and pictures on it will be decorative enough.
Use chalk ink to draw and write on the chalkboard wall! It’s less messy that traditional chalk..
When looking for something totally different, I found an awesome, independent store with handmade furniture – Hudson Goods. I absolutely fell in love! Its style is very close to Scandinavian and the pieces could correspond with white walls and wooden elements very well. The industrial style furniture look vintage but also very well made. All furniture are constructed with all natural components. Hudson Goods also try to use reclaimed wood and repurposed materials whenever it is possible.
Here are my favorite pieces:
industrial bin cabinets
Industrial pendant lighting
vintage burlap ottoman
vintage round stools
wire wine rack
industrial reindeer head
industrial metal locker end table
What do you think about the Hudson Goods? I like the wire pieces the most!
In my home, bathroom seems to be the major problem when it comes to lack of storage and organization. To keep it looks neat I decided to use wicker baskets in different shapes and colors. I used the biggest ones for cleaning products, big containers and hair-styling products. The nail polish, creams and different tubes I keep in the small ones. I also use Mason Jars for q-tips, cotton pads, make-up sponges or bobby pins. They all look great in the Scandinavian style bathroom.
What are your ideas to organize the bathroom?

Marriott and Ikea are teaming up to create new hotel network: Moxy Hotels. First property will be opened in Milan early next year. Moxy should meet demand from younger, more cost-concerned travelers. Rooms will be sold at about 65-90 euro a night.
The companies want to build around 150 hotels in 10 years, each having 150-300 rooms. The design presented on the promo video seems to be modern and art oriented.
By the way, did you hear the Ikea Song yet? Its hilarious any quite catchy 🙂
Scandinavian style can be characterized by simplicity and minimalism. The color palette includes shades white and cream, often combined with wood and metal. We can also observe some details in natural colors: greens, browns, grays. This style is perfect for the bedroom, where we want to be surrounded by simplicity and calmness.
